Anastasia Leopold is an artist caught between Boston, MA and Santa Cruz, CA.
“These sketches and collages are on collective discomfort, physical pain, and connection to place. These are excerpts from unpacking personal injuries and nation-wide uprising to the fires on the West Coast, which directly burned thousands of acres in Santa Cruz, displaced thousands of people, and which continue to affect our area. I experience flus as life events that completely disrupt normalcy, which have happened again and again since returning to the central coast. These have been my process through working through the upheaval in my life and in my hometown these last four months.”
