“During this time I have definitely felt the strain and access of materials (considering I’m isolated in an airbnb)-but I saw this as an opportunity to test my creativity. Considering we are all in isolation with our thoughts I have become very self reflective-on my life, on my work, and one my journey (what has everything come to and where will I go next). I was thinking about my high school art teacher and one of my favorite assignments was creating charcoal reduction drawings using pictures of our faces squished into the photocopier—she called the assignment Squish Face. I was thinking I loved these reference images. This was genius. Why don’t we take pictures like this? Why don’t we shoot fashion like this? Especially now where we can’t be physically collaborative, the fashion industry has to adapt quickly to do what fashion does best- reflect this moment in human history. So here are some experiments with a Xerox photocopier. I wish I had a giant one so that I can shoot full body poses.”
“I’ve got a small home recording room where I connect my beloved hardware (Analog Rythm, Machinedrum, Digitone, Minilogue XD) to create electronic music. The Mix and detailed work happens with Ableton. I like not always having a plan of where the journey goes and I open myself to a new challenge with every new track I'm working on. Depending on how my mood is, which experiences I made and above all what music I listen to, I let myself be driven in new directions. The instruments on top of that are literally portals to other worlds, in which unexpected paths often open up and the "happy accidents" happen, which are so important for creativity and a process that should never be 100% under my control.
I published my EP "Habit Forming" myself at the beginning of April. The mastering was done by my buddy NAWTS, for which I am very grateful. It is an EP that seems very colorful to me in its 4 tracks of ambient, electronic, techno, bass music and drum & bass. And it opened a new door to move on musically.”

Heather Suarez is a Texas bred, NYC-based artist.
“I just graduated from School of Visual arts for photography. But since COVID-19 happened I haven’t been able to take photos. So dabble around with painting and drawings. I attached 5 images of my drawings. I drew myself stuck at home, trying to tune into my inner child of some sense of a world of going back to when things were pure.”
